Christmas came early for kids at the SOS Children’s Village in Rustenburg, South Africa, as representatives from the Tottenham Hotspur SuperSport Academy delivered presents donated by the Club.
The gifts were handed out on behalf of the Club to 80 children aged from four months to 21-years-old at the village run by the world’s largest orphan charity.
The Club has a special relationship with the Rustenburg village, which opened in 2006 and is home to the Tottenham Hotspur House, uniquely funded by monies received from players’ fines.
Members of our current First Team also sponsor orphans in the village as part of the Club’s work with the charity. In July, 2010 Michael Dawson met 12-year-old Aubrey, the orphan he sponsors at the village in Rustenburg, experiencing first-hand the impact of the Club’s relationship with SOS Children’s Villages.
