The Club is delighted to announce the dates for its second public exhibition as it continues to consult on its emerging plans for a world-class new stadium, a new base for the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and a vibrant mix of other uses including retail, restaurants and homes alongside important new public space.
The Club will be hosting its second public exhibition from the 2nd April to the 7th April 2009. Having received strong support for the plans at the first exhibition in November 2008, this new exhibition will present more detailed information and include new images.
Commenting on the announcement, Daniel Levy, Chairman, Tottenham Hotspur said:
"Over the last few months we have made significant progress with our plans, having had an overwhelmingly positive response to our first consultation.
"We believe these plans will further demonstrate the potential of this scheme to make this area more vibrant for the local community, as well as genuinely acting as a major catalyst for the regeneration of this part of the High Road.
"The second stage of our consultation will be another opportunity for the public to comment on our plans, as we present more detailed images and designs, and I hope many local residents and supporters will take the opportunity to visit the exhibition or view the information on our website."
Councillor Claire Kober, Leader of the Council said:
"It is great to see Tottenham Hotspur's commitment to remain in Haringey. Spurs are one of our prime assets, bringing major economic benefits to the Borough.
"The council is determined to see major regeneration in the Tottenham area, and we see the new stadium as making an important contribution. The council's planning committee will carefully consider the stadium plans in detail when they are submitted.
"I would encourage many local people and fans to take the time to see the proposals at the Club's second public exhibition and provide their comments."
David Lammy MP, Member of Parliament for Tottenham said:
"I am delighted to see Spurs renewing and increasing their commitment to the local community by launching their second public exhibition. I hope local people will take the chance to get really involved in these plans.
"Some of my earliest memories as a young child in Tottenham are of the football club, and I'm sure the same is true of most of the young people growing up here today. The club is a fundamental part of the life blood of the community, and its continued presence and vision will inspire new generations of young people well into this century."
We appreciate the time that local individuals and fans have taken to let us have their views, and the Club now invites further comments from supporters on the scheme.
All the information will be available to view on the Club's website from Wednesday 1 April or at the Exhibition in the Bill Nicholson Suite at the stadium which runs as follows:
