Clive Allen was delighted with the application of our three returning loan players in Monday’s resounding reserve win at Norwich.

Calum Davenport, Johnnie Jackson and Phil Ifil were all back in the starting line-up after loan spells with Norwich, Derby and Millwall respectively.

Calum opened the scoring on his return to Carrow Road and Jacko set up the first two goals in an impressive display in central midfield as we ran out 5-0 winners.

Coach Clive said: “All three are back in our group and you always hope they will go about it in the right way.

"There is no doubt going from Championship football back to the reserves is difficult for them but each one of them applied themselves how you would want.

"They are good professionals and I think they enjoyed coming back into the group. They know they need to perform.â€Â

Clive was also impressed with Academy striker Simon Dawkins, who came off the bench to add the fifth goal, his first competitive goal at reserve level.

“Simon looked very lively for his goal and that will be important for his confidence and development,†added Clive. “That’s good for us and it’s great that we can integrate the younger players.â€Â
