Clive Allen has been impressed with how Lee Barnard has bounced back from his pre-season setback.
The young striker cracked his collar bone in Sweden after scoring our first goal in pre-season back in July but has returned with four goals in three reserve games.
The 20-year-old bagged a pair as our reserves toppled Leicester City on Monday night and they couldn't have been more different goals - a nod in from a yard for his first, controlling a 40-yard pass from Reto Ziegler on his chest and finishing superbly for his second.
"Lee's looking good," said development coach Clive, who knows a thing or two about strikers. "He's working very hard in training.
"He the setback in pre-season with his broken collar bone but he's come back determined to make up for that lost time.
"He's hungry for goals and always a threat at the moment. People might say the first one against Leicester was fortunate but I like that one because he's in the right place. The second goal was very good, excellent movement, first touch and finish. Lee's in good form and now he has to maintain it."
