Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Clive Allen was full of praise for the efforts of his young Spurs X1 side following their 1-1 draw with Chesham on Wednesday evening.

The starting line-up - containing eight of our current Academy crop - were the better side for much of the game against physically stronger opponents and it was a slightly harsh penalty that denied them a win after a Danny Stevens goal secured a lead just before the break.

Clive feels that there were many positives to take out of the exercise against the Southern League opponents.

"Very much so, I thought it was an excellent effort from the lads on what was a very difficult pitch," he considered. "We did it in the right way, we were excellent in the first half, lost our way a little bit in the second but I think that is part and parcel with young players.

"They need to understand a bit of game play, they started running with the ball when the pitch wasn't conducive to that. We still created chances so I was pleased.

"They have taken it all on board, have been very bright in the last couple of days and we know what we are trying to achieve. They did very well."

The young side coped well with the physical element of the game and managed to keep their passing game going for long periods.

"We knew it would be difficult and the opposition were very keen and physical. They are starting to understand that, if you pass and move and don't get involved in other side of the game, we can can the ball moving well and get success.

"There are one or two who are realising they are in pre-season and are very tired. Most of them are now going away with the Academy and all this certainly bodes well for a good season for the under-18s."
