Two Mark Yeates goals were cancelled out by a determined young City side, denying Clive the win he hoped to close the campaign with.
"That's right, obviously being in front twice and getting pegged back was the disappointing aspect of the evening," reacted the Development Coach afterwards. "I felt we had the opportunities, didn't take them and didn't punish Coventry in the way I would have liked us to.
"When you think the game is going to be easy it kicks you in the teeth. Football has an incredible way of making sure that it is not and that is for the younger players to learn.
"I am just disappointed that we didn't go about it in the right way when we were in front on both occasions. You have to learn and be ruthless in this game.
"We talked about the standard the lads set themselves last week against Arsenal and you have to grind this out every week. I felt we didn't play as we could and deserved what we got this time.
"I have made my points clearly, I think the lads understand it, it is about the way they perform in every single game they play."
Clive Allen admitted it was a disappointing conclusion to the reserve team season following the 2-2 draw with Coventry City at Stevenage on Thursday evening.
