The Toffees got off to a flying start with a fine 2-1 win at Charlton in their Premiership opener on Saturday.
We battled out a goalless draw against Aston Villa on day one and midfielder ‘Clem’ now hopes to kick-off our travels with a win.
“It will be a tough one,” admitted Stephen. “They won at Charlton, a good start and they will be on a high. It’s up to us to put them on a low.
“We have to recover quickly from Saturday, not get beat and then it won’t be such a bad start.
“It’s always hard at Goodison but they are all hard games, whether you’re playing the top club or the bottom club. It will be difficult, especially away from home.”
Clem admitted the lads were disappointed not to beat Villa.
He added: “We’re a little upset because we wanted to get off to a winning start but the main thing is we didn’t get beat and the first half was the positive aspect, when we played quite well and created chances.
“In the second half Villa looked stronger, probably down to the competitive games they’ve had which we haven’t had yet.
“It’s good to get the first one out of the way, we’ll all be a little fitter for it and hopefully take that into Monday, keep a clean sheet and hopefully we’ll have a chance of nicking a goal.”
