Clem's cup target

Posted on 9 March 2001 - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Stephen Clemence has a simple target for Sunday's crucial FA Cup quarter-final at West Ham - not to get beaten.
The wing-back/midfielder, preparing for his biggest game ever, insists we will be more than happy to bring the Hammers back to White Hart Lane for a replay next Wednesday.
'Clem' insisted: "It's a massive game for the club and everyone involved.
"If we can get through to the semi-finals it will be a great result for us but I think the most important thing will be not to get beat.
"If we get something out of it then great. If we win, fantastic, but if we get a draw and bring them back to White Hart Lane, that would be a great result as well.
"Hopefully we'll get a couple of the injured lads back, that will be a great boost and improve the squad. I think we're looking very, very young at the moment and it would be nice to get those players back."
Clemence says we have nothing to fear at Upton Park and can take heart from our display in a goalless draw in east London on January 31.
He added: "We have nothing to fear. We know they are a good side and it will be a very, very tough game. They have some very talented players, quite a few have broken into the England set up, so we know it will be tough.
"But the FA Cup is totally different, it's a huge game, the biggest of our season and we all want to go over there and do well."
We are 2/1 to win in 90 minutes on Sunday with Clemence 20/1 to score the opening goal - click here for details.
Listen to what Stephen had to say by clicking here
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
