Nobody summed up the joy of Aaron Lennon's late equaliser in the 4-4 draw with Arsenal last October better than radio broadcaster Danny Kelly.
As the ball hit the back of the net in the dying seconds, his passion and unashamed love for Spurs erupted live on TalkSport radio as he screamed ‘GOAL!' to thousands of listeners, alongside bewildered co-presenter Stan Collymore.
But, as Danny tells the June issue of hotspur in an exclusive interview, he is not about to apologise for celebrating such a memorable moment in the way he did!
"There's two ways that you can make a career in broadcasting," he tells the Club's official monthly magazine. "You can either pretend that you don't support anyone and remain completely neutral - in that case, you're not really a football fan in my book. I, on the other hand, have never hidden my affection for Spurs, as that moment probably suggests.
"I was watching the game intently in the studio, when Modric hit a thunderous shot and Lennon tapped in the equaliser. Of course, I'm off...I don't care.
"I leapt up into the air so high that I had extended the entire wire of my headphones and bounced back down into my seat. That's no mean feat considering I am a big man!
"If it hadn't been for the fact I had a very strong headphone jack, I think I would have actually gone through the ceiling. I would have made history that night as the first, unpowered human to make it into space. But because of the jack, I stayed on planet Earth screaming at poor Stan instead."
Danny goes on to speak his earliest memories as a Spurs fan, his highlights of following the team, and his hopes for the coming season.
The only place to read this entertaining interview in full is in the June issue of hotspur, which also features an exclusive interview with Aaron Lennon himself and is in stores now.
