IT'S BOYS OWN STUFF - GAZZA'S FREE-KICK SINKS ARSENAL
Dateline: April 14, 1991
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Match: FA Cup, semi-final - Arsenal 1 Tottenham Hotspur 3
It's one of the all-time great goals and all-time great images - Paul Gascoigne racing towards the Spurs bench in pure ecstacy after leaving David Seaman grasping at thin air as his 35-yard free-kick sailed home.
Voted our greatest moment by fans on this website last summer, few believed the genial midfielder would take on the free-kick, let alone strike it perfectly into the top corner.
That free-kick set the tone for the day. Gazza soon helped set up Gary Lineker for 2-0 and despite double-chasing Arsenal pulling a goal back, the damage was done. Lineker pounced to secure a famous win in the second half and take us to Wembley again - the rest is history.
