UP FOR THE CUP
Dateline: May 18, 1991
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Match: FA Cup Final, Tottenham Hotspur 2 Nottingham Forest 1 (after extra time)
Another Wembley day to remember - Gazza's tackle and tears, Stuart Pearce's goal from the free-kick, Gary Lineker's missed penalty, Paul Stewart's goal, Des Walker's own goal and, finally, good guy Gary Mabbutt receiving the FA Cup from Princess Diana.
It didn't look like it would be our day after the mercurial Gascoigne's early departure on a stretcher, Forest going 1-0 up via Pearce's rocket shot from the free-kick that followed and Mark Crossley's save from Lineker's penalty. Lineker also appeared to have a 'goal' wrongly ruled out for offside.
Thankfully it all turned around. Stewart's low drive took the game into extra time and then Mabbutt, who suffered own goal hell in the final against Coventry four years earlier, pressured Walker into heading into his own net for what turned out to be the winner.
