And the midfielder pinpoints the events at the Etihad earlier in the season as to why it’s so important to take our chances this time around.
City ended up 4-1 victors on that occasion but it was a scoreline that somewhat flattered the home side as Joe Hart maintained a slender City lead with two saves at 2-1 - one from the penalty spot - before a sending off and spot-kick at the other end saw the Sky Blues home in the last 20 minutes.
“We gave away some sloppy goals and I didn’t think 4-1 was a fair reflection on how the match went up at City,” said Ryan, who was making his third start for us in the Premier League that day and has gone on to make 27 in total going into this weekend.
“When we went up to their place we had a penalty at 2-1 and the game could have changed. Goals change games after all but, unfortunately for us, they went up the other end and scored themselves a couple of minutes later.
“We’re at home now and hopefully we can get a positive result, we just need to be a bit more clinical.
“If we get the opportunities on Sunday, we need to be clinical in front of goal and be solid at the back at all times.
“We want to win - we want to win every game we play. Hopefully we’ll finish the season on a positive note and then we’ll all look ahead to next season.”
