We were quick out of the traps and might have been 3-0 up by the time Sergio Aguero hit what turned out to be the only goal of the game on 29 minutes.
It was a clinical finish from a lightning counter-attack started from another Spurs chance when Nabil Bentaleb was inches away from Christian Eriksen’s corner - Joe Hart claimed the ball, threw out to David Silva and 10 seconds later, Aguero finished.
Hart went on to deny Ryan Mason, Harry Kane, Erik Lamela and Paulinho while the Brazilian midfielder also headed just wide - it just wasn’t to be as we racked up 21 efforts at goal without reward.
“I think we were very unlucky,” said Danny, in fine form again. “City showed their quality with their first real chance and everyone is disappointed with that goal, it’s a shame to have conceded like that.
“We were also disappointed not to come in at half-time with a goal ourselves but you have to put that behind you and go again and we did that.
“There were plenty of positives to take out of the game and it was certainly much better than last time at home against Villa.
“The aim is now to go out and get nine points from the last three games of the season.”
