Fresh from scoring the goal that sent us to Wembley in last month’s Capital One Cup semi-final second leg at Sheffield United, the Danish international took his goals tally to 11 for the season with a fine free-kick in our most recent Premier League outing – a 3-0 win at West Brom.
Now, as we approach Saturday’s clash with Arsenal at White Hart Lane, the 22-year-old wants to keep up that momentum in a bid to taste victory against the Gunners for the first time in his Spurs career.
“We’re looking forward to it, as I’m sure everyone at the Club is, and it will be an exciting game,” said the former Ajax star, who has so far experienced two losses and a draw in the three North London derbies he’s played in.
“To be fair, both teams are in great form and have enjoyed some good results lately so that should make for a really nice match, although we will have to perform at 100 per cent if we are to beat them.
“Obviously there is pressure going into this fixture but everybody who knows football knows that these are great games and as players, you want to be involved in these matches. I’ve only been here a year and a half but it doesn’t take long to appreciate and understand that there is a different feeling around the games against Arsenal.”
