Christian Eriksen says it would 'mean everything' to the players to win Sunday's North London derby.

It’s a key fixture with Arsenal six points ahead of us in the Premier League ahead of the 4pm kick-off at White Hart Lane.

“I’ve only been here for a few months but I know what this derby is all about,” said Christian, who took on the Gunners for the first time in the FA Cup in January.

“I’ve played in one and now it’s at home, so I’m looking forward to it. It would mean everything (to get a positive result) and would give everyone a huge boost.”

Christian planted home another fine free-kick but that was a rare highlight as we tumbled to a 3-1 home defeat in our Europa League Round of 16, first leg against Benfica on Thursday night.

Rodrigo handed the Lisbon side the lead in the first half, Luisao doubled it from a corner and although Christian’s goal offered hope, it was quickly dashed by Luisao’s second and Benfica’s third from another set-piece.

“The free-kick gave us a boost but unfortunately it was only for a few minutes,” added Christian. “I thought Benfica were good and we weren’t good enough on the ball, we couldn’t keep it.”

However, the Danish playmaker refuses to throw in the towel ahead of the second leg at the Estadio da Luz on Thursday.

“We have the players for it, hopefully the mentality as well,” he said. “We will try to go through but realistically, it will be very difficult.”
