Chris on the run

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Armstrong is back on the run! Our unlucky striker, who has been hit by a succession of injury problems this season, is aiming for a clear run towards full fitness this time around.
Chris has been suffering with a groin problem and, after a couple of aborted comebacks, is determined that the timing will be right for his next return to first team duty.
“I’m out running again and hopefully looking to do a bit of ball work,” said Chris. “I haven’t done that for a couple of weeks, I just done strengthening stuff in the gym. Hopefully this is the start of a good run back to fitness.
“The times I’ve come back maybe I’ve come back a little too early. I didn’t really give it a proper chance to heal. It’s one of those problems that you want to get out there on it but you don’t realise until you are out there playing on it that it isn’t right.
“It’s had plenty of time now, I’ve done plenty of strengthening on it and it will be nice to start running and kicking a ball.
“I’ve had a few bad injuries but this has probably been the worse because it’s one where you can do a little bit but when it comes to a proper game it hasn’t been good enough. With all the gym work I’ve done now, touch wood, the problem will be behind me.
“The problem is in the abductor, perhaps just a little fluid in there. It’s okay on a jog but it’s harder running and stabilising myself to kick a ball, that has been the problem. There has been a definite improvement over the last couple of weeks where I haven’t done any ball work, just strengthening. Hopefully that has sorted it out.
“It’s been a nightmare for most of the season just sitting there watching games, especially with the lads doing so well in the FA Cup, you want to be part of it. You just try to stay positive and hope that you can come into it later on.”
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
