Chris Hughton explained that the creation of a good atmosphere at the training ground provides the essential basis for the gathering of positive results.
Confidence is understandably high among the players at the moment following the sequence of four wins and Chris agrees that the principal feelgood factor does come from winning. But you do need a starting point to embark on such a run.
"I think what you can do is create a good atmosphere at the training ground - and that means an awful lot," considered the long-serving coach. "It is what takes you into a run of games and gives you confidence on a matchday.
"There is no doubt though, the biggest confidence booster you can get is by winning games. Even moreso if you are winning in a good style and by playing good football."
Having Martin Jol about the place, Chris added, goes a long way towards achieving the ideal footballing environment.
"He is a big character, Martin. If I look at how we are at the moment, it is very much his stamp on the team. He very quickly put into practice how he wants the team to play and, at the moment, we are reaping the benefits of it.
"As I said, we've worked hard to create a good working atmosphere here at the training ground. We are also fortunate at the moment to have good competition for places, with just Simon Davies and Sean Davis out for a significant length of time recently. Apart from them, we've been more or less injury-free."
