Chris leads young guns

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Weekend hero Chris Armstrong leads the young guns back into reserve team action on Tuesday night.
Armstrong grabbed the winning goal in the Premiership encounter against Sunderland on Saturday and will now lead the line for the second string in the FA Premier Reserve League clash against Derby County at Pride Park.
He will be joined by Alton Thelwell, Anthony Gardner, Simon Davies, Matthew Etherington, Gary Doherty, Ledley King, Ciaran Toner and Ian Hillier in a youthful-looking squad.
Ian Walker will be in goal while Willem Korsten, who scored four goals last time out, is also in action as Chris Hughton’s side aim for three wins on the trot.
Boss Hughton said: “We’ve been able to field a consistent team and that is rare for a side that can change from one week to the next.
“The addition is that Chris Armstrong is back with us after scoring on Saturday. I was absolutely delighted for Chris but now it’s about games and fitness for him.”
Hughton is delighted to be able to field such a young side but knows that first-team requirements always come first.
He added: “If you spoke to most reserve team coaches they would say the same — that it is possibly more beneficial for the development of the club to play a young side and the better of the YTS lads, players that have showed real promise and deserved to get into the group.
“But it’s no different here than anywhere else — the most important team is the first team and what we have to so is service the first team. When players need games they do it at reserve team level.”
To listen to Chris Hughton's views, click here

<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
