Chris Hughton was convinced we were going to win Wednesday night's Carling Cup quarter-final against Middlesbrough.
It wasn't until five minutes from time that the visitors cancelled out Darren Anderton's early goal to take the game into extra time. They then won the penalty shoot-out 5-4.
"I felt we were going to go on and win the game," said Chris. "Where you have to give the players credit is after conceding a goal so late in the game they gave such a good account of themselves in extra time.
"Once it went to penalties it can go either way and when Kasey saved from Mendieta, you think perhaps it could be our night. That was a wonderful save but it wasn't to be."
