The mascots were cheered on by a packed crowd when they took over the field during the interval of the T20 match between Surrey Lions and the Hampshire Royals.
The competition took the form of a relay obstacle race, as mascots from sports teams from North of the Thames, competed against those of the South.
On a hot night at the Oval tension levels were high as local rivals came face to face in the dressing rooms.
Gunnersaurus was a no-show having failed a late fitness test, so it was left to Chirpy to lead the line for North London.
Chirpy was teamed up with Bubbles and Hammerhead of West Ham, while Billy the Badger of Fulham was allied with Jude the Cat of QPR.
Mascots completed a dash for a cone before spinning round it three times and trying not to collapse in a heap.
Chirpy helped to build a narrow lead for the North, and after a close finish, it was Bubbles the Bear who crossed the Mail On-Finish-Line into the arms of his victorious team-mates.
The race was initially awarded to the South, but after a stewards enquiry the result was overturned - and the North were triumphant!
