Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

This afternoon's match is the 23rd League encounter here between the two sides. Of the previous 22, we have won ten, Charlton seven with five drawn matches.

Last season’s corresponding fixture — played on December 28, 2003 — resulted in a 1-0 win for Charlton. Substitute Carlton Cole scored the only goal in the 69th minute. The crowd figure was 34,534.

Our last win here over Charlton was on March 10, 1990. John Polston, Gary Lineker and David Howells scored in a 3-0 victory. Their five visits since have resulted in three drawn matches and two defeats.

Chris Perry, Luke Young and Paul Konchesky have all had spells here at White Hart Lane. Chris scored four goals in 146 senior appearances during his four years with us from July, 1999. Luke joined Charlton in July, 2001 having made 76 senior appearances for us after progressing through our youth ranks. Paul made 15 senior appearances in our colours whilst on loan here between September and December, 2003.

Jermain Defoe was on Charlton’s books as a schoolboy for six years until joining West Ham United in 1999, aged 16.
