Chris Hughton believes the win against Sunderland underlines the character in the squad this season.

We came from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 and then recovered again from a shock equaliser and Robbie Keane's missed penalty to secure maximum points at the Lane on Saturday.

The win made it three games unbeaten since the defeat at Bolton and just one loss in 11 as we sit fourth in the Premiership.

Character is certainly something we've shown this season - the clear indication of that is our position in the league and in particular our away form

“Home form is generally decent and the difference between it being a good season or not is the amount of victories you can claw from situations where maybe it wasn't going to be.

“Saturday's game was one of those situations where at 2-2 and time running out, Sunderland certainly had confidence and we could have ended up drawing, which would have been disappointing.

“So yes, the character has been good and that's something we've worked on.â€Â
