Harry Redknapp spoke in glowing terms about how Luka Modric and Tom Huddlestone performed in central midfield against Arsenal and Chelsea.
As Harry was quick to point out, the pair were outnumbered in that key central area in both matches as Arsenal and Chelsea lined-up with five midfielders and one striker, with three centrally.
But they turned in outstanding performances as we clinched a derby double that the fans will never forget, following up Wednesday night's 2-1 win against the Gunners with an even better display in Saturday's victory against the title favourites.
"Modric could play in any team in the world in my opinion, he's a fantastic footballer, top, top class," said Harry.
"He's a little guy and people say he can't play in central midfield but he's played there in a two (two-man central midfield) against teams that play with three men in there and he's been absolutely top drawer.
"Tom Huddlestone was superb in there again as well. We knew we'd be outnumbered again against Chelsea but Modric, Huddlestone and the two wide men tucking in all did their jobs.
"Before the game I thought Chelsea would get an awful lot of the ball with the likes of Deco and Lampard in there but we got after them. It was a great performance."
