Michael Carrick has described Aaron Lennon's form as 'fantastic' and admitted: "I wouldn't fancy marking him!"

Aaron has impressed after being handed a starting chance by Head Coach Martin Jol in the last two Premiership wins against Fulham and Charlton.

The lightning quick winger was named man of the match against Fulham by the Sky Sports team and his performances earned promotion from the England Under-20 squad to Peter Taylor's Under-21s at the start of the week.

Only 18, Aaron will now hope to make his Under-21 debut in European Championship qualifiers against Austria tonight - at Elland Road, home of his former club Leeds - and Poland at Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

Aaron's deserved that call into the Under-21s and he's been great

"That pace scares defenders to death - I wouldn't want to be a full-back facing him! Even if he has a quiet 10 or 15 minutes, he's always liable to rip down the line.

"To be honest, it's great to have that outlet, especially when you are in trouble.

"He's come in, taken his chance and he's been fantastic in the last few games. We've all been impressed with him."
