The striker is on fire. Robbie has scored seven goals in his last seven games including six in his last five Premiership outings, taking his total to 13 this season.
The quality of his goals have also caught the eye and his double against Portsmouth in Saturday's 4-3 win - a left-foot volley and solo run from the half-way line - were right out of the top drawer.
Skipper Stephen is delighted to see his friend and Irish international team-mate hit top gear.
"Robbie is a very confident lad and never loses faith in his own ability," he said. "That's important.
"He is now showing the quality he has. He can change games for you.
"People thought when Fredi left for Tunisia 'who would score the goals' but Robbie took that responsibility on board and I think he's gone to another level.
"He's different class. His whole game, not just scoring goals, is brilliant. That's the only word for him, brilliant.
"He can't wait for games to come because he's on fire.
"He's a great player for us and there aren't that many players in the league better than him at the moment - that says it all about his ability."
Stephen Carr believes Robbie Keane is up there with the best of the Premiership at the moment.
