Stephen Carr has withdrawn from the Irish squad for next week's friendly in Poland.
The full-back has been suffering with back problem and with him currently serving a a three-match suspension - he's available again for the home match against Blackburn on May 8 - acting boss David Pleat says it is the ideal time to try and get the injury right.
David explained this afternoon: "Stephen's had a back problem for some time now and been playing with it but we won't risk him in the Irish squad next week with important games coming up at the end of the season.
"He's suspended at the moment so this was the time to try and get the injury right. Hopefully he'll make a quick recovery."
Robbie Keane and Gary Doherty have also been named in the squad - alongside the returning Roy Keane.
