Carr nuts about Brazil

Posted on 17 February 2004  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Stephen Carr says it's every footballer's dream to play against Brazil - a dream he should fulfil tomorrow night.

Our stand-in skipper should line-up at full-back as the Republic of Ireland take on the world champions in a friendly at Lansdowne Road.

Brazil are expected field a full-strength line-up with the likes of Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho all reporting for duty.

"I hope I play because it must be every footballer's dream to play against Brazil," said Stephen, who has worn the captain's armband in Jamie Redknapp's absence.

"They are the ultimate team to play against. It's just that jersey - there is something about it.

"It's great they are coming to play us. It will be an unbelievable game and I just hope they put their full side out.

"People will say we'll get hammered but it will be an experience to play against that quality. I'm looking forward to it.

"We have a few good friendlies coming up, difficult games and that will help us."
