Our Irish star was selected for the position by players voting for their Premiership representative team.
Rated by most pundits as the best right-back around, Carr was in magnificent form in early season until a groin problem got the better of him at Southampton on December 27.
He returned for 30 minutes at Manchester City in February but clearly wasn't right and eventually underwent a hernia operation. After another spell of rehabilitation he was back, this time for good, for the FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal.
The PFA team of the season was announced at the PFA awards at a London ceremony on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, the main prize of PFA Player of the Year went to Manchester United's ex-Spur Teddy Sheringham and Young Player of the Year to Liverpool's Steven Gerrard.
The PFA team was: Barthez (Man Utd), Carr (Spurs), Silvinho (Arsenal), Stam, Brown, Keane, Giggs (all Man Utd), Gerrard (Liverpool), Vieira, Henry (both Arsenal), Sheringham (Man Utd).
Stephen Carr has been handed the prestigious honour of being named as the best right-back in the Premiership by his fellow professionals.
