Full-back Stephen arrived back in England yesterday after feeling a pain in his knee while Gary was stretchered off after 69 minutes of Ireland's 2-1 win with an ankle problem.
"Stephen felt his knee slightly and flew back as a precaution more than anything else," explained Chris on his arrival back in England this morning.
"Doc fell awkwardly on his ankle and turned it over. Won't know the extent until he arrives back at the club today and sees the medical team but hopefully neither injury will prove too serious."
Gary had played well at the back and struck the post earlier in the game but it was left to Robbie Keane to secure Ireland's win in the last minute - his 19th goal for the Republic.
Chris Hughton reports that Stephen Carr was left out of Ireland's friendly against Czech Republic as a precaution and the extent of Gary Doherty's ankle injury will be known later today.
