Carlisle away in Capital One Cup

A date has yet to be confirmed for our trip to Brunton Park, although the third round of the competition will be played on the week commencing Monday, September 24.

As soon it is confirmed, we'll publish the date across our channels.

Carlisle beat Accrington Stanley 1-0 in round one and completed a dramatic comeback against Ipswich Town on Tuesday to earn a place in the third round.

They trailed 1-0 in the final minute when Mark Beck took the game into extra time and then won it thanks to David Symington's strike.

Our young midfielder Massimo Luongo, on loan at Ipswich, scored Town's goal.

We last played Carlisle in September, 1997. That was over two legs in the second round of the League Cup and we won both legs to go through 5-2 on aggregate.

Neale Fenn, Ruel Fox and Paul Mahorn netted in a 3-2 win at White Hart Lane before David Ginola and Chris Armstrong finished the job off in the return leg, a 2-0 win at Brunton Park.
