The French striker spent a six-month loan spell at Liverpool while Jamie was still at Anfield and the skipper says he is as good a striker as he has come across in his career.
Jamie knows that, despite a recent dip in results, City are a dangerous side on their day and always appear capable of creating goalscoring chances.
"They can and they have good front men," he considered. "I worked with Anelka at Liverpool for a little while and he really impressed me. He is as good a centre forward as I have worked with really.
"He has great ability and I found him a good lad as well. They've also got Robbie Fowler and if he is fit he will be dangerous.
"On the other hand, I think we can get at them because Robbie Keane has come into good form and hopefully Postie can keep it up. We can cause them problems.
"I think it will be a very open game and you've got to win these games if you want to do well in the Cup."
