Following the departure of Jamie Redknapp the Club has confirmed Ledley King as permanent Club captain.
The England international defender has skippered the side in recent weeks and is our longest serving player at the age of just 24, having graduated through our Academy ranks.
His form has been outstanding so far this season and, as team captain, he has played a vital role in steering the side through the current run of six wins and one draw in seven games.
"I've learned a lot from Jamie and we all wish him well at Southampton," said Ledley. "It is an honour to be captain, we've got a great side with the best team spirit we've had for years.
"It is a good time to be playing for the club and everyone is enjoying it."
