The England Under-21 international defender initially went to Upton Park on a three-month loan after joining us from Coventry City in September but we always had the ability to recall him anytime after the first month.
"It has gone exactly how we would have wanted," said Sporting Director Frank Arnesen this afternoon. "I had a good conversation with Calum before he went to West Ham which was a different environment, different players, different circumstances and he has done tremendously well.
"At the same time we have a few defenders injured so it is perfect for him to come back and show us what he can do.
"It was always the case that we could take him back after the first month if we needed him, otherwise he could continue to play at West Ham. But now is the time for him to come back.
"I have spoken with Alan Pardew and he was very pleased to have him and I've also been very pleased with what they have done with the player.
"It was a win-win situation for all three parties - both clubs and the player."
Calum Davenport is back at the club after being recalled from his loan spell at West Ham.
