Rob Burch has been thrown into the deep end in South Africa - and Glenn Hoddle has been delighted with the young goalkeeper's response.
Still just 19, Rob followed up a solid display in the friendly at Oxford by lining-up in both of our tour matches against Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
Undaunted by what he described as the biggest games of his career so far, 'Burchy' looked confident and assured beyond his years.
Glenn said: "Rob got beaten by two set plays on Saturday, a free-kick and a penalty. This time he got a clean sheet and he looked assured out there.
"These are his first matches in the first team and he showed me, as manager, that he has a good temperament and goalkeepers need to have that.
"Players need it as well so they can step up levels as youngsters and Rob's proved that.
"This has been a big bonus for him and a big bonus for the club."
