'Bunje' ended eight months of injury agony against Celtic on Wednesday with his first start in front of his home fans since being stretchered off with a fractured cheekbone against Chelsea last October.
The Yugoslav defender's last appearance at the Lane was as a substitute against Bolton last December.
Now he's back, feeling fit, strong and looking ready to re-introduce his lovely passing style out of defence - he has impressed in pre-season and continued that form in Wednesday's draw.
"Celtic was special for me, a good feeling," said Goran. "It was wonderful to walk out into the stadium again.
"It has been tough but I never lost my confidence in my game and it was a great match to come back into.
"There were almost 25,000 fans here, the stadium looked great, the squad looks good, everything is good for me.
"Celtic have already started their season, they have Champions League next week, but I think we did well.
"We were without a few players as well, Ledley King, Les Ferdinand, Jamie Redknapp.
"We now have another very big game against Lazio on Sunday and these are the games we like to see.
"If we want to go to the best level we have to be very strong and these are good tests for us. I'm looking forward to it and hopefully the fans will be here again, like they did against Celtic."
Goran Bunjevcevic said it was a 'wonderful feeling' to be back at the Lane - now he can't wait for Lazio on Sunday.
