Michael Brown was satisfied with his progress after completing a pre-determined 45 minute stint for the reserves against Chelsea on Monday evening.
The midfielder has been absent with foot and stomach problems since mid-April and made his return in what was an impressive display from Clive Allen's young side which resulted in a 2-0 win at the home side's reserve base in Aldershot.
Michael only returned to full training on Thursday of last week and reported he was prescribed a spell of just one half in his comeback game.
"I was told beforehand it was only going to be 45 minutes," said Brownie after the game. "I've only had three or four training sessions so I was obviously not going to do too much too soon.
"I felt a bit rusty, but it was just good to get back out there and get playing football again in a game scenario - I thoroughly enjoyed it.
"It was a great performance from the lads to beat Chelsea who had some good players out there. We had mostly a young team apart from myself and Goran and the young lads did really well."
