Fri 09 March 2018, 18:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Our preview panel for Sunday's trip to Bournemouth - Darren Anderton, who remains our record appearance maker in the Premier League and finished his distinguished career with a spell at Bournemouth and Dan Rose, sports reporter at the Daily Echo in Bournemouth.

Still our record holder for appearances in the Premier League (299), Darren spent 12 years at the Club between 1992-2004, racking up 358 appearances in total and lifting the League Cup in 1999. Capped 30 times by England, he ended his career with two years at Bournemouth between 2006-2008. Now 46, he's still a regular for our legends team and a matchday host.

"I know Eddie Howe well and he doesn't like to change his thought process on the way the game should be played but to be fair, in the last couple of matches between the teams, he's given Spurs a lot of respect and looked to stay in the game. That probably stems from a 5-1 defeat to Spurs in one of Bournemouth's early games in the Premier League (October, 2015). Bournemouth have had good results of late and they've got some really good characters. They keep going, keep playing and get their just rewards.

"For me though, it's all about Spurs and if we're on top of our game collectively, we'll be fine. I guess the main thing is for the players to get their minds back on track after Juventus. That's gone and this is the most important game now. If they do that, I think Spurs will win. It's a tough place to play and I think it will be tight but if we get the first goal I believe we will go on to win the game."

Cherries have notoriously struggled against Tottenham since their promotion to the Premier League but they go into Sunday’s contest at Vitality Stadium in fine form.  Only one defeat from 10 league games – which include victories over Chelsea and Arsenal - means Eddie Howe’s side are on course to secure a fourth campaign in the top flight.  However, the club will take nothing for granted until they are mathematically safe and would like another scalp against one of the league’s big guns to add to their growing collection.

"Despite dramatically conceding late on at Leicester last Saturday, Cherries should have taken real heart from the way they manfully threw bodies on the line to keep themselves ahead until the dying moments. One of the highlights of that 1-1 draw came through the performance former Spurs man Adam Smith. Most commonly used by Howe at full-back or wing-back, he was handed a spot on the right of midfield in front of skipper Simon Francis and put in a superb display. The game at Vitality Stadium against Spurs finished 0-0 last season but I think both sides have enough attacking talent to put on a real spectacle."
