John Bostock was captain as England Under-17s kicked-off the European U17 Championship Finals with a draw against Holland in Germany on Wednesday.

The midfielder was heavily involved in a 68-minute stint, firing just wide and setting-up chances for Jose Baxter and Jack Wilshere.

However, England had to recover from going a goal down after just three minutes when Oguzhan Ozyakup opened the scoring. Luke Garbutt of Leeds United levelled 10 minutes from time of the 80-minute match.

England next take on hosts Germany on Saturday before their final group match against Turkey on Tuesday, May 12.

The top two from each group of four go through to the semi-finals - France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland compete in the other group.

Meanwhile, the tournament doubles as qualifying for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Nigeria later this year.
