Boss on Leeds challenge

Posted on 22 August 2003  - 12:00

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Glenn Hoddle reasons that any side managed by Peter Reid will prove to be a tough nut to crack.

The former England midfield enforcer took over at Elland Road in succession to Terry Venables and his first home match in charge was the 2-2 draw with us in April.

It has not been an easy summer for Reid, who has had to contend with the loss of playmaker Harry Kewell and speculation surrounding a number of his star players. Despite the problems, Glenn still feels he will make a success of his time at Leeds.

"Leeds have had a difficult time off the pitch," he said. "I know Peter Reid very well from our playing days - he is a great lad and I think he'll do very well at Leeds.

"He's had a tough time off the pitch with players being sold, but I know Peter will get them fired up for Saturday.

"They've got off to a reasonable start and were a couple of minutes away from getting three points against Newcastle when nobody fancied them.

"They'll come with a lot of heart and a lot belief. We know it will be tough, when Peter sets a team out it is always a team that will work hard and you have to earn whatever you get."
