Didier Zokora insists the disappointment of our opening day defeat against Middlesbrough is firmly behind us as we look for our first three points of the season against Sunderland on Saturday.
The Ivory Coast international admits we were not expecting to lose at the Riverside after an impressive pre-season, and now the team have a point to prove.
And he is determined that we do just that in front of our own fans in the first game at The Lane in 2008/09.
Didier said: "Boro was a surprising defeat because of our form in pre-season against teams like Roma, Dortmund and Celtic.
"Everyone was disappointed because we wanted a good start to the season, but they had two chances and scored two goals.
"Now that game is in the past and we are focused on giving 100 per cent against Sunderland.
"The players are confident because we all want to prove ourselves, and a win on Saturday would certainly help that.
"The fans love the team and, playing at home, three points are very important. But Sunderland will not be an easy game."
Hear what Didier has to say about the prospect of coming up against best mate Pascal Chimbonda and a host of other familiar faces against The Black Cats in an exclusive interview with Spurs TV Online.
