It has taken just two weeks for Andy Booth to make up his mind about Sergei Rebrov.
Hitman Booth is on loan for a month from Sheffield Wednesday while Les Ferdinand, Chris Armstrong and Steffen Iversen recover from injury.
He has played two-and-a-half games alongside the Ukrainian star including the second half of Saturday’s encounter at Manchester City — where Rebrov’s late strike sealed our first away win in the Premiership.
Booth declared: “He’s a world-class player and I don’t think there are any doubts about it.
“That was his ninth goal and I wouldn’t say that has been a bad start for him.
“It will take time for him to settle into English conditions but he’s done well.
“I can’t imagine how hard it must be to settle into new surroundings like that. I was talking to one of the other lads about it and it must be so difficult.
“It’s the language barrier as well. Sergei speaks English but it still must be difficult for him. You have to admire him really, he’s done brilliant.”
