The club's nominated local charity, The Haven House Foundation has been awarded a donation of £8,100 through The FA Community Shield Fund.
The fund is made up of money raised at the Community Shield match and is donated via the Football Association and English clubs to hundreds of charities country-wide. Every club reaching at least the 1st Round Proper of that season's FA Cup is entitled to an equal share of the charity fund to donate to a local charity of their choice.
Based in Woodford Green in Essex, The Haven House Foundation is a registered charity and relies solely on donations. The foundation offers short-term respite care for children with severe life-limiting conditions and also hospice care for terminally ill children and their families.
The money has been raised by football and the club is delighted that such a worthwhile cause can benefit in this way.
