Clive Allen suspects that the confidence levels of Lee Barnard will be significantly boosted by the striker getting off the mark against Crystal Palace for the reserves on Monday evening.
Lee, not long back from a fractured collar bone, shot our reserves into the lead just before half-time at Stevenage - fitting reward for a player who always gives his all.
"It is always nice to get off the mark," commented the Development Coach. "I was pleased for him, I thought he worked tirelessly and always works very, very hard.
"As I've said to him, sometimes he runs into areas where he's not going to score goals. This time he was in the right position, Rohan slid him in and Lee finished very well.
"His confidence should be up now in terms of getting himself into goalscoring positions more and getting the returns that his hard work deserves."
NEXT RESERVE FIXTURE: Spurs v Norwich City, Monday September 20, kick-off 7pm at Stevenage Borough.
