We are delighted to announce that we have reached a pre-contract agreement with SuperSport United for the transfer of Bongani Khumalo to the Club in January 2011 subject to a work permit being granted.
Khumalo had a successful trial with the Club in September.
The South Africa international recently captained our club partners, Supersport United, to a record equalling third straight Premier Soccer League championship, having become the youngest captain to lift the trophy last year at the age of 22.
The centre-back, now 23, has been capped by South Africa on 19 occasions and was included in the World Cup Finals squad for the host nation this summer, opening the scoring with his first international goal in the 2-1 group win against France.
The Club has enjoyed a successful association with Supersport United having formed a long-term partnership with the South African champions back in 2007. The agreement has seen the launch of the Tottenham Hotspur SuperSport Academy in South Africa and coaching exchange programmes. Players from the Tottenham Hotspur SuperSport Academy also travel regularly to London to train with our Academy.
