Things haven't quite clicked for the young midfielder in his time at Spurs - underlined by suffering a broken finger when he was looking good in pre-season, an injury that kept him out for six weeks.
Fit-again, he finally made his full debut in the Carling Cup win at Highfield Road and after missing the cut at Manchester City on Sunday, Jon returns to reserve team action at Ipswich Town tonight, hoping to do enough to appear on the main stage against Everton this weekend.
"I'm very happy at the moment," he reflected at Spurs Lodge. "I am in the squad and played at Coventry.
"I was a little nervous because it was my first game but now I feel more confident.
"If I play another game soon I know that confidence will show it in the way I play. It's one game at a time and I hope to be in the squad again soon and if I'm in the squad, I am happy. If I play, I'm even happier."
