Roman Pavlyuchenko has stressed the importance of our 3-1 FA Cup victory against Wigan on Friday, in which he struck twice.
But the Russian believes the result was more important for the team as a whole than it was for him on a personal level.
It was our first win in six games and sets us up nicely for our Carling Cup semi-final first leg with Burnley at The Lane on Tuesday.
And Roman hailed an improved performance on Friday night in which he feels we played a far more attacking game than we had been doing in recent weeks.
"This win is very important for the team because we hadn't won in six games and we needed a confidence boost," he said.
"Every win we get makes us stronger and more confident, and we want nothing less than that on Tuesday.
"It's not about me scoring the goals, the most important thing was that the team won and it was a great night for the fans. Scoring goals is my job and that's what I did.
"I think we pushed forward a lot more when we had the ball and this was an important factor in us scoring the goals we did."
