Big night for lads on international duty

Nine of the lads are in action in Europe with Clint Dempsey set to captain the USA against Costa Rica in Denver in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Wales are hopeful Gareth Bale shakes off a virus to face Scotland in a Home Nations encounter at Hampden Park in Group A of European qualifying for the 2014 World Cup Finals in Brazil.

In the same group, Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertoghen face a double-header against Macedonia, the first match in Skopje tonight before the return in Brussels on Tuesday. Belgium top the group on goal difference from Croatia.

Jermain Defoe trains with England this week

Steven Caulker, Jermain Defoe, Scott Parker and Kyle Walker are with England for two away matches in Group H, starting with San Marino tonight (8pm). England are currently second behind Montenegro, who travel to Moldova before the teams meet in Podgorica on Tuesday night.

Hugo Lloris should skipper France again as Les Blues face Georgia at the Stade de France in Group I. The big one follows on Tuesday, when Spain visit Paris. The teams have the same record at the moment after a draw in Spain in October.

Iceland are performing well in Group E and Gylfi Sigurdsson will look to build on their two wins in four against Slovenia tonight.

Clint will look to help the USA bounce back from a defeat in their first match of the final qualifying stage in the North/Central America and Caribbean zone when they face Costa Rica at 12.15am UK time.
