'Benty' up for the challenge

Darren Bent believes it will be massive boost if we can overcome the conditions to beat Shakhtar Donetsk on Thursday.

We travel into what is likely to be sub zero temperatures in Ukraine for our UEFA Cup Round of 32 First Leg clash.

But striker ‘Benty' feels games like this are what make European competition special to him - and not just a distraction from our Premier League programme.

He claims the only way to start improving our domestic form is to start picking up results no matter where we go.

"This is another challenge for us, and going out there and getting a result in tough conditions will be a great achievement for us," said Darren.

"The UEFA Cup gives us the opportunity to test ourselves against teams from other countries and cultures, and hopefully we can do the job on Thursday.

"It's all about getting momentum going. It doesn't matter what competition we play in, we have to be winning games.

"If we can go as far as we can in this competition, start climbing the league and win the Carling Cup, all of a sudden it will be a great season!"

The full interview will be available on Spurs TV Online ahead of Thursday's clash.
