Darren Bent insists confidence hasn't been dented too much by the defeat at Blackburn.

That late, late loss at Ewood Park was only our second reverse in the last 10 games as we've climbed up the Premier League table.

The next match could prove key as West Ham, currently six points clear of us in seventh in the Barclays Premier League, arrive at the Lane on Saturday.

"We have to keep moving forward," said striker ‘Benty'. "The performance was good at Blackburn and we have to take that into the West Ham game.

"At the moment the lads all believe we can get points from every game.

"We've some difficult games coming up but as long as we keep playing as we are there is no reason why we can't beat anyone.

"We've played well for a while now and we need to keep it going and aim for that seventh spot."

The Hammers strengthened their grip on seventh as their main rivals - Wigan, Fulham, Manchester City and ourselves - all lost at the weekend while they best Sunderland at Upton Park.

They are on a run of five matches unbeaten including wins over Wigan and City. "They've put some great results together," added Darren.

"Carlton (Cole) has been fantastic for them, I've known him for a long, long time, since my Under-21s days, and he'll be a big loss for them with his injury.

"We'll concentrate on ourselves though, play the football we know we're capable of and hopefully go out there and beat them."
