Ben has not been available for selection as yet for Glenn — a situation the former Wimbledon man is desperate to remedy.
He will be hoping that his work put in during the summer will set him in good stead for pre-season, when the battle for starting positions will start in earnest.
"I’ll be at the training ground most days this summer, initially getting my strength work in, mobility back in my hip and from there swimming, jogging and then stepping up towards pre-season.
"Hopefully I should be fit for next season. There are numerous things I want to do. I want to impress the people I know, the people at the club, the fans and there is a new gaffer here now."
Ben has heard speculation linking the club with left-sided reinforcements but, like last year, Ben want to be like the new boy again and feels he could like a new signing for Glenn.
"He is not sure of his side yet and will be looking to strengthen in certain areas. I’ll be like a new signing in the summer. I have to impress him and see what happens from there."
Ben Thatcher has added incentive, if any were needed, to be back fit and fresh for the new season. There is the small matter of a new manager to impress.
